Fable Night is a place to find all the popular christmas bedtime stories, fables, bedtime stories for adults and bedtime stories for kids.

It was just before Christmas, and the little angels in heaven were very busy preparing presents. They attached name tags to each gift so Santa would know who they were for. But even angels can sometimes be naughty.

– Hey, how about we play ball for a bit instead of sticking labels on the presents? Suggested Angel, the biggest mischief-maker.
– We should finish first. I remember who each present belongs to – replied Angel. – See, how nicely I’ve arranged the packages?
– Just a moment. Don’t be a coward.
– Alright, but really just for a moment.

Angel and Angel tossed the ball, initially gently and carefully, but they grew bolder and threw it more violently until their hands ached. They giggled the entire time.

– Now brace yourself, Angel, here comes a strike! – Angel exclaimed excitedly and threw the ball forcefully at Angel.

Angel saw he couldn’t catch the flying ball and jumped out of the way. The ball flew through the air and landed among the flat, unlabeled presents.

– Angel, what have you done? How will we find out which present is for whom now? – complained Angel, close to tears.

Angel felt ashamed. He thought for a moment about how to fix it and had an idea.

– No one will know anything, look – Angel reassured Angel, taking tags and sticking them randomly on the packages.

They finished in an instant. Then it was time to place the presents under the Christmas trees. Angel and Angel watched through the window as Santa placed gifts under the tree of a family with children. Would no one really find out?

It looked fine until the family approached the tree and started unwrapping presents. Dad found a dog bone in his gift, Mom got a huge box of Lego blocks, the boy received a pacifier with his name, the girl unpacked a drill, and the whole family found a doll for the dog. And what did the baby get? A huge skirt.

Santa saw what happened and quickly cast a spell so all the presents went to the right people. Dad held the drill, Mom tried on the skirt, the child sucked on the pacifier, the girl was dressing the doll, and the boy was assembling a Lego car.

– And you – Santa said to Angel and Angel – next time, finish your work first, then you can play. Now go and clear the clouds so it’s nice and white by morning.

For the next year, Angel and Angel made sure not to spoil any gifts.
