Enjoy one of our new bedtime stories for kids. We present you a bedtime story about the Weather Kingdom, which is very special…

Once upon a time, beyond great mountains and amidst tall trees, there was a tiny realm called the Weather Kingdom. Ruled by King Rain and Queen Wind, they had four daughters: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, each responsible for bringing a different season.

They also had a little son named Thunder, who, shooting lightning bolts left and right, often found himself in trouble. His flashes frightened animals, broke tree branches, and his lightning bolts left huge holes in the ground. The kingdom’s castle was also home to the Weather Fairies, who helped change the world as each new season approached.

The most important element in the Kingdom was the Crystal Orb of the Elements, which showed each princess the words to a song. Upon singing, they could commence their respective season. When the hottest time of the year came, Princess Summer took the orb and began to sing:

Thus began the summer. The Weather Fairies took care of the sun to shine every day, watched over the animals to enjoy the warmth, and tended to the trees and flowers, showing the beautiful colors of summer all over the world.

The Warm Season quickly passed, and Autumn, eager to begin Fall, also took the crystal orb and sang:

Thus, Princess Autumn began the rainy Season. This time, the Weather Fairies helped the trees shed their leaves, sought shelters for animals, and helped gather supplies for the upcoming Winter.

Unfortunately, something happened that disrupted the entire kingdom. Mischievous Thunder, throwing his lightning bolts, struck the Crystal Orb of the Elements, shattering it into tiny pieces. Frightened, the prince gathered the scattered parts, hid them behind a vase on the wall, and decided not to admit to anyone what he had done. A few days later, Winter, wanting to sing her song to start winter, discovered that the Crystal Orb of the Elements was missing.

The whole kingdom, worried about the loss of the magical object, began searching for it. Queen Wind, with her strong gusts, blew the pieces of the orb from behind the vase. Unfortunately, the orb was broken, and only the one who destroyed it could repair it. Thunder, frightened by the commotion, didn’t dare admit his guilt.

King and Queen spent many months searching for the culprit in vain, and autumn lingered on, saturating the earth with rain that flooded new places. More months of autumn passed, branches broke from trees due to excess water, animals hid terrified by the weather’s effects. The sky was still covered with dark clouds, creating a gloomy, colorless world.

Even Thunder began to feel the effects of his actions, and nothing pleased him anymore. He couldn’t scare animals because he hadn’t seen them for months, he didn’t shoot at trees because they had lost branches, and the ground was so soaked that he couldn’t make holes in it. Bored and saddened, the prince finally mustered the courage to confess to his parents what he had done.

He apologized for his behavior and promised to control his power. The King and Queen were disappointed with their son’s actions but were also relieved to know the truth so they could restore the orb and end the rainy season. King Rain handed Thunder the Magical Book of Spells, which contained the formula for the orb’s renewal.

The prince took all the crystal pieces and said:

The broken elements shone with a very bright light, and after a moment, Thunder held the repaired Crystal Orb of the Elements in his hands. Great joy reigned in the Weather Kingdom, but to dry the earth and restore harmony, Princess Spring took the orb and sang:

And so, until the next autumn, the earth took a breath from the excess water, animals again enjoyed the sun, flowers bloomed, and trees turned green again. The earth regained its former colors, and everything returned to normal. This time autumn ended on time, and Winter finally started the long-awaited Winter, which the world had not seen for a long time. She lifted the orb and sang:

And so began the winter season. And what of Thunder? Thunder learned to control lightning and shot from a distance from the Crystal Orb of the Elements. Sometimes, however, he plays tricks on his sisters, and as soon as the next season is about to begin, he hides the orb in different places, delaying the arrival of spring, summer, autumn, or winter. So, if you’re waiting for your favorite weather and it’s not coming, think that the prince probably hid the crystal treasure, and as soon as the princesses find it, your awaited Season will begin.
